For centuries, Manapad has stood as a sanctuary of faith and a witness to miracles. From the heart of our village, the majestic spires of St. James Church and Holy Spirit Church rise as symbols of a community built on devotion. Yet, every path in Manapad is a journey toward our highest point: the Holy Cross Shrine.
Perched atop the sand-swept hill, the Shrine keeps watch over the coast, housing the sacred Lignum Crucis a fragment of the True Cross that has drawn the faithful to our shores since 1581. At its base lies the historic Grotto of St. Francis Xavier, the very cave where the Saint lived, prayed, and found refuge in 1542.
We welcome you to our home “Little Rome” where the wind carries the prayers of the Saints and the waves tell the story of the Cross. Walk slowly, breathe in the salt-scented history, and discover the enduring soul of our village.
